Two of our members, Tyrone Hitzeroth and Jo-Lynn Telling, will be departing for Cape Town on 6 August 2010 to prepare for a tour to Germany with a Moravian Brass Ensemble. A concert will be held at the St Martini Church in Cape Town on 7 August 2010, and the group will depart for Germany on 9 August to return on 31 August 2010. The main purpose of the tour is to participate in the Brass Band Festival of Posaunenwerk Hannover in Hildesheim. This festival will form part of the 1000th anniversary celebrations of the St Michael's Church in Hildesheim. Apart from the festival, the group will be visiting several other German towns, with another highlight being a visit to Hernnhut where they celebrate the 13th August Festival, a very important festival on the Moravian calender. Two other members of our band, Justin Kamineth and Laverne Louis, were originally also included in the ensemble, but had to withdraw for reasons relating to work and/or studies.
